With Westin Homes in Cardiff Ranch, your home works for you.  It incorporates whole home automation features via GE’s Ecomagination SmartCommand Dashboard, standard in all of our homes in Cardiff Ranch.  This Dashboard gives you, the owner, total control over different aspects of the home from one centralized location.  It features the capability to view electrical and water usage, as well as solar power contribution!  You can view these in real time, daily, weekly, or monthly graphs…and that’s not all.  Ever leave a light on upstairs or in another part of the home and forget about it?  Well that single 100 watt light bulb is costing you over $2.50 per week (based on .14/KwHr), that’s over $130.00 per year!  Now, with GE’s Ecomagination SmartCommand Dashboard, you have the capability to have a heads up display of all the lights in your home!  It can tell you whether they are on or off, and you have the ability to control them, even dim them, from one single location.  It also has the ability to control all thermostats in your home, eliminating the need to go upstairs to adjust the climate.  This dashboard also introduces music into the equation.  You have the ability to upload music to the home or plug in an ipod or other music device and play your personal music throughout your home.  You can also set it up on different zones like “backyard” or “family room” and play it only in the desired zone.  This music feature also doubles as an intercom system and a room monitoring system so you always know what’s going on in your home.  Your home’s dashboard also has a selection called “Scenes”.  What this does is utilize all the functions on the dashboard and allows you to set a specific scene.  For Example, if you wanted a “Romantic Scene” all you would need to do is select “Romance” and the lights would dim, the fireplace would come on, and a romantic play list would play; or for a “Barbeque Scene”, if you have your grill connected to the home’s gas and after selecting the “Barbeque” scene, your grill would fire up, your barbeque play list would play in the back yard, and the lights that you wouldn’t use on the inside would turn off.  It’s limited only by your imagination.
